About
I'm Tamir Chen — a musician and music producer from Tel Aviv, based in Berlin's Neukölln for over a decade. My work lives at the intersection of performance, production, education, and community building.
As a bass player and studio musician, I perform live and record sessions across genres. I founded and run Solarium Studio — an artistic hub in Neukölln that is home to bands, rehearsal spaces, cultural events, and the annual Solarium Festival.
I produce and record music, edit and mix podcasts, teach bass and Ableton Live, and facilitate bands through Bands Berlin — bringing amateur musicians together, forming groups, and guiding them all the way to the stage. I also work with children and people with special needs, bringing music to everyone.
Projects
01 — Band
Psych bossa and Brazilian soul, reimagined from Berlin via the Dead Sea. Co-founded with Moosh Lahav at Solarium Studio, the band released a debut album on Batov Records (2023) to global acclaim — BBC Radio 6, NTS, FIP, Bandcamp Weekly — and followed it with the "Própolis" EP in late 2025.

Berlin-based bouzouki quintet reviving 50s and 60s Mediterranean and Middle Eastern classics through surf rock and psychedelic lenses. Greek laïko, Anadolu rock, and Israeli mizrahit collide in an explosive live show — singing in Greek, Turkish, and Hebrew. Tamir plays bass and sitar.
